Our History.

Dake has been in the gray iron foundry business since 1887 and the brass foundry business since 1919. Both businesses have evolved from the original foundries that were located where the Grand River flows into Lake Michigan to being a global source for foundry castings.

Dake Castings currently owns one wholly-owned foreign enterprise (WOFE) foundry in China, Dake (TJ) that began as a joint venture in 1988. This foundry utilizes contemporary brass casting technology with the ability segregate and run multiple types of metallurgy including no-lead.

Because of Dake Castings' extensive history in China, Dake Castings has developed longstanding personal relationships with a network of Chinese and global casting operations. We can help you find the best sourcing fit for your product.

Depending upon your needs, the on-site engineering and technical staff at Dake in Grand Haven, Michigan and at Dake (TJ) in Tianjin, China can be augmented with additional technical resources available through JSJ China, a branch of Dake Castings' parent company, the JSJ Corporation in Grand Haven, Michigan.
